How does a mobile repair work?

The process is quite straight forward. Let’s use a scratched bumper bar as an example.

  1. First, you take a few pictures of the bumper bar paying particular attention to the damage. A pic from further back will allow the repairer to see the type of car and if the colour will need to be blended onto adjacent panels. Once these have been sent to the repairer they will get back to you (promptly) with a quote.
  2. If the quote is acceptable, you will make a booking and the tech will arrive on-site to perform the repair.
  3. Once on site, the tech should explain what he or she is about to do and how to answer all your questions and concerns. Then it’s time to begin.
  4. For a bumper repair, the first thing we do is sand down the damaged area. Then once it is all smoothed out, we scotch brite the area being painted. In this instance, the full bumper removes any trims we can in the process.

Then it’s time to blow it all down and clean the surface with wax and grease remover or prepsol. Then we can dry it all off and mask it up. Once everything is masked, we can apply primer to the damaged area and once dry sand that down.

Once this is done, we allow the panel to cure and then remove any noticeable imperfections in the finish before demasking the car and now the repair is complete. This whole process should take no more than 3 hours for a bumper. Saving you lots of time and money.
